hi guys!

My friend Polly Paulusma has recorded a cover of English Girls Approximately. It's acoustic and really lovely and I thought you might be interested in seeing it.

If you like her you can check her out here:

I'm sure this has come up repeatedly, but I've been away from LJ for some time now.  A couple of users in the past have uploaded the fantastic oddysey of music from Ryan Adams' alter egos, DJ Reggie, The Shit, & Werewolph.

Well, since then I lost my entire hard drive and the music went with it.  Does anyone still have that music uploaded anywhere?  I'd be greatly indebted to you.

Current Mood: wee!

I don't know if any of you folks are actively watching the pax am website (which is pretty slick, might I add) but there are 5 jams on there for download in the downloads from the III/ IV sessions and also two other tunes that have been up for a little while. Also the little 7 inch that was available for record store day is available for purchase now in the merch section. limited to 300, one per order. Just figured I would fill you in on my recent travels of the interwebs.

Ryan Adams Announces European Tour

While more archival release announcements were certainly good news for Ryan Adams fans and completists like myself, a much more exciting update arrived just moments ago via Facebook: One of a few new photos taken inside a recording studio and elsewhere features the following caption (and polite request) by Adams:
I wrote some new tunes this winter on my acoustic guitar. I think I’d like to play them for whoever wants to hear them. Please don’t yell at me.

And as linked above, that the next Ryan Adams record will arrive on April 16 as part of this year’s Record Store Day. Posted on Ryan's FB: Nifty!
Given Ryan Adams’ affinity for releasing music on vinyl, you might think that all the popular albums from his discography are readily available in the superior analog format, but there are actually a few that are rather hard (or impossible) to come by. Enter Lost Highway’s 10th Anniversary clear vinyl celebration, in which Adams’ former label will release a slew of LPs “that helped define [their] little label” in coming months, including Adams’ 2004 LP Love Is Hell, which was released as a double-10-inch (though rare copies only occasionally pop up on eBay), and Whiskeytown’s 2001 swan song, Pneumonia, previously unavailable on vinyl.
Additionally, Lost Highway will drop Rock N Roll, Johnny Cash’s American VI: Ain’t No Grave, a Hank Williams tribute record featuring Adams’ take on “Lovesick Blues,” and many more albums in the limited series. The label warns that “all releases and release dates are subject to change,” so I’ll hold off reprinting tentative dates here just yet, but either way, this is great news for those looking to hear jams like “Ballad of Carol Lynn” and “Jacksonville Skyline” the way they’re meant to be heard.

Seriously can't wait.
